Machine polishing can improve the finish of paintwork. The result depends on the type of mark and the condition of the paint, so an inspection comes before the recommendation.
Light swirls and minor imperfections
Refinement polishing may suit light swirl marks and a dull finish. The car is washed and decontaminated before a single-stage machine polish.
Heavier defects
Multi-stage correction uses cutting and refining stages to work on heavier swirls and defects. I check the paint as I work and explain what can be improved safely.
Deep scratches and stone chips
Deep scratches and damage through the clear coat may remain. Stone chips involve missing paint, so polishing alone cannot repair them. Touch-ups can be discussed when the car is assessed.
Protection and aftercare
A ceramic coating can be combined with polishing to protect the prepared finish. Safe contact washing is still needed afterwards.
